Directors in Corporate Video Production

Have you ever wondered what the director does in corporate video production?
The directors role has two crucial elements that are identical to the movie directors role.
These are:

  1. The vision
  2. And the ability to communicate this to the cast and crew.

Often the corporate director designs the concept and writes the script.
Even when a script is provided a corporate video director will start work in the pre-production phase. They make decisions on items such as location, set, talent and the filming sequences for the shoot.

Our 1 Minute Media directors are sticklers for arriving early for the shoot. They ensure lighting and sound checks are carried out. They make sure props, cast and crew are in position.

Definitely not. 1 Minute Media has a huge range of video products that don’t require a director onsite.

Examples:

  • Marketing videos made entirely of stomp animation
  • Covid-19 videos edited from footage provided by your own fabulous marketing teams
  • Simple interview videos such as those with company owners and managers, who are used to pitching perfectly their companies USP’s
  • eLearning video series delivered by your star trainers. 

    In each of these video types and more, our skilled videographers step into the directors role, to pool resources with your own talent!

It’s best to have a director involved in addition to our regular video production team when there is anybody (or anything!) that will benefit from our directors ability to visualise and ensure the creative brief for your video is met. 

Most productions that involve more than one “talent,” benefit from the expertise of the director, whether the talent are trained actors or from your own team.

Indeed even if there is only one presenter, your talent may prefer to have our director onsite because they will be assured that one set of eyes is dedicated to making them look and sound great! This is often the case with CEO’s, managers and trainers alike.

And the great news is at 1 Minute Media our scaled fees for our award-winning directors is as little as $1200+gst/10 hour day. Yes, they work long hours, arriving early and leaving last, but that is pure enthusiasm.

The aim was to combat misinformation proliferating on the internet in the leadup to the Voice Referendum, through versions in English and the Kimberley Kriol dialect.

The animation was shown in information workshops, while our cuts, including reels, rapidly gained tens of 1000’s of views across socials. The outcomes reported were high increases in community awareness in the Kimberley region of WA.
